Tottenham face battle with Real Madrid for the signature of Colombian star
Tottenham’s quest to sign Wilmar Barios in the next transfer window has suffered a major setback after Real Madrid enter his chase.
The Colombian has been attracting the attention of several top European sides over the past year as he continues to star for Boca Juniors.
Spurs didn’t make any signings last summer as they look to use their own players, however, they have been dismal in Europe this term, and they expect to make a few additions in the winter transfer window, and Mauricio Pochettino wants Barios to be one of them.
However, reports claim that Real Madrid have also been running the rule over the 25 years old, and they may move for him before Spurs does.
Barrios is well-known to English fans after he headbutted Jordan Henderson at the World Cup, but Spurs fans would hope he can do the job of a good midfielder on the field instead.
