Scotland name Liverpool star as their new captain ahead of Nations League
Liverpool have had a new leadership role conferred on one of their best players as Andrew Robertson becomes the next player to be named the captain of his national team.
Robertson joined the Reds last summer, and he instantly made himself a cult hero with the Kop after some outstanding performances that saw them reach the final of the Champions League last season as well as climb to the top of the Premier League table before this international break.
He has played 22 times for the Scottish national team, but he is not the first Liverpool player to be named the captain of the Scottish national team. Graeme Souness and Garry McAllister were also Liverpool players when they captained the Scots.
Scotland plays Belgium in a friendly on Friday as they look to get over missing out on the World Cup, and their fans would hope that they can give a good account of themselves when they play Albania in their first game in the UEFA Nations League on Monday.
