Out of favour Liverpool star emerges as shock target for Leicester City
Leicester City are planning to make a move for Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne after his return from the injury that has kept him out since much of last season.
The England full-back was given almost the whole of last season to recover from a back problem, and in that period he lost his place to Trent Alexander-Arnold who has remained impressive.
He is back in the squad, but out of favour with Jurgen Klopp and has just one season left on his current deal. The 27 years old wants to return to the England fold and may consider a move away from Anfield.
Leicester City bought Ricardo Pereira this season after Danny Simpson fell out of the first team picture, but they want Clyne to provide competition for the Portuguese defender.
Clyne signed for 12 million pounds from Southampton in 2014, and could still move at a profit for Liverpool, but it remains unclear at the moment if the Reds have plans to offer him a new contract.
