Manchester United star set to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer next summer
Manchester United are on the verge of losing one of their biggest stars, Ander Herrera, as the Spaniard enters the final year of his current deal.
Herrera has been at Old Trafford since 2014 and has just under a year left on his current deal. Reports from Spain claim that the former Bilbao man has no intention of renewing his current contract and that has alerted several clubs about his availability.
Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, and AS Roma are all said to be circling him with intent. The midfielder can sign pre-contract agreements with a foreign club from January and his suitors are looking to get that in a cut-price deal.
Roma are in need of a new central midfielder, while his former club Bilbao have been struggling this season in La Liga. It is unclear at the moment if Herrera would seek an emotional return to Spain or look to play elsewhere.
Atletico Boss, Diego Simeone is reportedly planning to call Herrera and personally try to convince him to make the move to the Wanda Metropolitana.
