Manchester United join race to sign Brazilian wonderkid
Manchester United have joined the likes of Liverpool and PSG in the race to sign Flamengo’s Lucas Paqueta after his stunning breakout season in the Brazilian top flight.
The 20 years old has been the standout star of the Brazilian top flight this season and saw his hard work rewarded with a maiden Brazilian national team cap in the last international window.
He is able to play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, and he has netted 6 times and provided 8 assists in 28 games in the Brazilian league this season.
His major strength is an eye for an incisive pass, and this has seen him drawn a comparison with former Milan star, Kaka.
Manchester City and Liverpool were linked to the youngster in the January transfer window, however, none of the two English sides could complete the transfer and more European sides have joined the race.
Barcelona, PSG, AC Milan and Manchester are all linked with signing him now, and Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to trigger his 40 million pound release clause.
