Alex Iwobi set to sign new Arsenal long term contract worth £70k per week
Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi is set to sign a new five years contract at the Emirates Stadium after Unai Emery assured him that he is part of his plans going into the future.
The Nigerian international had been linked with a move to Lazio recently. The Italians were considering him as a replacement for Felipe Anderson who joined West Ham a few weeks back.
However, Iwobi held talks with Emery and the Spanish boss assured him that he was a part of his plans heading into the future.
The 22 years old made his debut for the Gunners in 2015 and has become one of the most important members of the London club.
He played over 40 games in all competition for the Gunners last season and could be set to get as many chances to impress this season also.
The new deal is reportedly going to earn him £70,000 per week, a significant hike on his current wage at the London club. He would sign the dotted lines when the club returns from preseason.
